Getaway with your Girlfriends!
I’ve written about girlfriend getaways before, but why bore you again with my take on it! Read it from a Guest who recently stayed with us:
My family organized a “girls weekend” at Interlaken to celebrate my sister’s 50th birthday. We enjoyed the beautiful townhouse and adjoining townhouse room. Our group included a wide range of ages from 2 month old to a teenager, a college student, several shall we say baby boomers and two 82 year olds (mom and mother-in-law). Everyone was able to chill out and experience a relaxing time. Our accomodations were lovely and the staff didn’t mind that we added a few decorations to celebrate the milestone birthday! We had two hot breakfasts over the weekend in the main building which everyone enjoyed and a delicious meal at Morgan’s on Saturday night.
It was a great time to visit the area to enjoy the Fall foliage and take advantage of the crisp mornings to canoe on the lake. I want to personally thank Sue who recommended Freund’s bakery where we ordered a custom birthday cake that was absolutely delicious!
Thank you for a wonderful time and kudos to all the staff for their hospitality and high customer service. We will definitely consider returning to Interlaken in the future!
Best regards, Betty
I wrote back to Betty, thanking her for the nice letter she wrote, and also asked her if she was able to visit the local area – and here’s what she wrote:
Our group enjoyed many outings during our weekend getaway including: tour of Edith Wharton’s estate (the grounds are beautiful – although it may be a tad chilly in February), tour of the Norman Rockwell museum, a trip into Salisbury for the Fall Festival and scarecrow contest and we also drove to Norfolk on Saturday night to see Rhonda Larson at the Infinity Music Hall – very cool place, great acoustics and the Bistro/bar is a fun location to hang out after the show.
Thank you, Betty, for making it easy for all of the girlfriends out there to plan a weekend away! Pick a date and give us a call – we can work with Betty’s options or create new ones – there’s something to interest everyone in the Northwest Corner of Connecticut!
